Brooks Alexander
Associate/Education Pastor
Brooks has been serving as the Associate/Education Pastor since November 2000. He has previously served as a church planter and Missions Pastor in Missouri. He also has previous experience as an attorney in Mississippi. Brooks holds a Bachelor’s degree from Mississippi College, Law Degree from the University of Mississippi, and a Master of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
He is happily married to his wife, Cathy. They have two adult sons.
Brooks enjoys traveling, watching sports, and exercising.
His favorite verse is Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your path straight.”
Aaron Griffin
Student Pastor
Aaron has been serving as the Student Pastor since July 2019. He has served as a Youth and Music Minister at another church before joining the GSBC staff. He also has worked as Manager of Lifeway Christian Bookstore. Aaron holds a bachelor’s degree in Theology from the University of Mobile and is a licensed and ordained minister.
He enjoys reading, traveling, and kayaking.
Aaron’s favorite verse is Psalm 19:14, “May these words of my mouth and this mediation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock, and my Redeemer.”
Deborah Eddie
Child Development Center Director
Deborah has been serving as Director of the Child Development Center since December 2015.
She has served for over 25 years in various forms of childcare. As the wife of a now retired US Coast Guardsman, she has had the opportunity to be a part of many daycares, youth centers, and churches. She has worked in all aspects of childcare including teacher for all preschool age groups, core teacher for infant room, summer camp lead counselor, as well as administration. Over the years, Deborah has served in various church positions such as AWANA commander, GA director, preschool choir teacher, VBS director, children’s committee member and many others.
She holds a Bachelor of Social Work with a minor in Child/Adolescent Psychology from Louisiana College. She is also an American Red Cross certified instructor for Adult/Pediatric CPR, First Aid, and AED.
Deborah also homeschooled her 2 children through Bob Jones University. Her children are now college graduates and have found success in their chosen fields, her daughter in Birmingham, AL and her son in Houston, TX.
Deborah resides in Mobile with her husband David and enjoys collecting all things seashells.
She has two favorite verses: Matthew 6:33, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you,” and Psalm 46:10, “Be still and know that I am God…”
Deborah is very excited to serve in this ministry and be a part of what God has in store for the Child Development Center and Summer Camp program at Government Street Baptist Church.

Chris Turner
Technology Director
Chris has been serving as Technology Director at Government Street Baptist Church since March 2019. He has experience in working in the technology field in various areas and has been working on computers since he was 14 years old.
Chris is blissfully married to his wife, Amanda. They have a dog named Nibbler.
He enjoys playing computer games and DIY projects.
Chris’ favorite verse is Matthew 18:20, “For what two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”
